Hi everyone,
I’m preparing for an IVF cycle and wanted to start a discussion about foods that are helpful during IVF treatment. I’ve been reading a lot online, but I’d really like to hear real experiences and practical advice from people who have gone through IVF.
From what I’ve learned so far, these seem to be some of the top 5 foods recommended during IVF:
- Eggs – Especially whole eggs for protein and choline, which may support egg quality and hormone balance.
- Leafy greens (spinach, kale, broccoli) – Rich in folate, iron, and antioxidants that support implantation.
- Healthy fats – Foods like avocado, olive oil, nuts, and seeds that help with hormone production.
- Berries – Blueberries, strawberries, etc., are high in antioxidants and easy to add to smoothies.
- Whole grains – Oats, brown rice, and quinoa help keep blood sugar stable during IVF medications.
I’ve also heard it’s helpful to limit sugar, caffeine, processed foods, and to stay well-hydrated throughout the cycle.
For those who’ve done IVF:
- Did changing your diet help you feel better?
- Were there any foods your doctor specifically recommended or told you to avoid?
- Any simple meal or snack ideas that worked well for you?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences. Thanks in advance!
