Keeping a marriage going is hard. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much you love each other, you just lose yourselves and in doing so, lose your will to keep the marriage going. That is what happened for Jeffrey Agan Sr. and Lorrie Agan.
After getting married in an electronics store in 1989, Lorrie and Jeffrey had eight children together and 20 years of marriage before they decided to call it quits. Constant fighting led them to separate, followed soon after by divorce.
The divorce tore their family apart, but it was the right thing for them to do; they were better apart than together.
Years went by, with fights and slick comments being waged from both sides.
Separately Lorrie and Jeffrey began to work on theirselves and re-find themselves. Jeffrey, who had been a truck driver for 20 years, went back to school to train to be a nurse and he started writing poetry. Lorrie, on the other hand, took solace in meditation and found strength in self empowerment and nature.
Finally feeling happy in themselves and with time healing their wounds, Lorrie and Jeffrey began to speak again. This eventually led on to them beginning to date each other, just like they once had.
Rediscovering their love for each other, their family was whole once again. But Jeffrey wanted to seal the family again forever. On Christmas Eve of 2017, Jeffrey had a very special question for Lorrie.
He had written a piece of poetry, specifically for Lorrie, that he printed and wrapped for her Christmas present. But there was a message hidden in the text that nobody else knew about.
Opening her gift and reading the poem out loud, Lorrie gasped and lowered the gift to find Jeffrey down on one knee with a ring in his hand and one question. He wanted to know if she would marry him… again.
The internet has gone crazy for their beautiful reunion and the whole family couldn’t be happier that they are all reunited once more.
It just goes to show that if it is true love, you will always find a way back to each other.
