A man visited a Waffle House in South Carolina early Thursday when he couldn’t sleep only to find that others apparently didn’t have that problem.
Alex Bowen waited for 10 minutes at the register and then went looking for employees, eventually going into the kitchen, WIS-TV reports.
He cooked his own food, took several selfies and returned later that day and paid $5, according to the news station.

A Waffle House spokesperson said in a statement that customers should never have to go behind the counter, citing safety reasons.
