The giant huntsman spider is one of the largest and fasters spiders on the planet.
Their leg span can easily reach up to 1 foot and have been recorded moving at a speed of almost 1 yard per second.
A family’s from Mount Coolum in Queensland, Australia felt “trapped” in their kitchen when one of these massive arachnids paid them a visit.
Lauren Ansell was getting ready for dinner when the dinner plate sized spider appeared at the sliding glass door. With the spider between her and her boyfriend, Lauren took a few photos and a short video she uploaded to Facebook.

“My partner was on the outside trying to cook our food. We didn’t want to kill it, but it didn’t like us for trying to move it along,” Lauren told Daily Mail Australia. “It’s still alive and happy. I nicknamed it Aragog.” Lauren named the spider Aragog after the truly giant character from the Harry Potter series.
