I do love the sound of a good vocalist; quite literally, it’s music to my ears. But what I really love is when you hear animals having a bash at a tune. We’ve heard cats meowing in tune and dogs howling along to the radio. But have you ever heard of an operatic donkey?
Martin Stanton was out for a walk one day when he encountered a cute little donkey called Harriet relaxing in a nearby field near his home in Ireland.
Harriet had immediately caught Martin’s attention and so he had to go over and introduce himself. He brought Harriet a little gift to earn her friendship.

I’m an animal lover. I saw her, so the next day I brought her carrots.
From there, the two developed a lovely friendship. Stanton spends time with the donkey, hanging out and feeding her carrots. He’s even taken the time to meet Harriet’s owners who he says are “really lovely people”.

Oh, she’s so spoilt. I’ve been visiting her for over a year now and I always bring her treats!
But one day, Harriet the donkey gave Martin a little treat back. She decided to sing for him.
Yes, Harriet is an operatic donkey!

She sang a little song of joy as a ‘thank you’ for the year’s worth of treats and friendship. Granted, she’s not landed a recording contract just yet, but hey, it’s only a matter of time!
That was the first time I’ve heard her sing. I couldn’t stop laughing. She’s totally adorable. So friendly and gentle.
Don’t forget to watch Harriet the operatic donkey singing a song for Martin in the video below. Also, we love hearing all of your opinions. So please let us know what you thought of the article in the comment section.
