Mark Ward and his granddaughter, Tahj Renee, lost everything in an electrical fire last year. The damage done to their house forced them out, and left them without a home.
Mark, a Vietnam War veteran, was just able to escape the flames of the roaring fire. Tahj Renee, a brain cancer survivor, luckily was not at home at the time of the devastation.
For a while, Mark and Tahj Renee lived elsewhere with no hope of returning to their home. However, when a local home design company caught wind of the situation, they stepped right in.
D&A Designs worked tirelessly over the next few months to restore the Wards’ house. They worked for free, generously donating their time and money to refurnish the house.
Company owners of D&A Designs personally worked on the project. They also had different teams come in to get the job done efficiently.
Teams for landscaping, electricity, building, and designing came in to lend a hand. Many of the rooms even had brand-new furnishings.
D&A Designs chose a special day to reveal what they had done to the Ward’s house. After eight months of being unable to return home, Mark and Tahj Renee finally stepped foot back inside.
Grandpa and granddaughter could barely believe their eyes as they toured the house. They were instantly blown away with their new home. “My granddaughter will be very, very happy,” said Mark.
Mark was beside himself to see the addition of his very own “man cave.” Complete with a bar area, he now has a very special place to watch his sporting events with friends.
Tahj Renee was blown away when she saw her new bedroom. The sleek white furnishing gives a sophisticated, modern feeling.
“She did a fantastic job. Unbelievable,” said Mark. Both he and Tahj Renee were absolutely touched by the effort the company owners put in.
