Charisma is one of the components which “make up” a good leader. Although there is no way to measure charisma, it exists and can be described as a force which attracts people to someone, drives them to this person and makes them willing to follow him or her.
There is no single definition which gives a full and absolute meaning of “charisma”. Charisma can be described as a set of character features which make an individual look, sound and behave so that others would consider him or her trustworthy, interesting, attractive, etc. It is important that followers experience such positive emotions and feelings toward their leader. No one would want to follow a leader whom they do not like, except that they are forcefully made to follow. The latter is done by dictators only. Charisma is a quality which allows a person to set and share goals and make them look attainable. This helped me when I applied for a job at advanced-writer.com. Charisma is a very useful quality if you are a creative writer. It is an inner characteristic which allows a leader to project his or her faith, confidence, good mood, etc. onto followers. When followers see the confidence in organization’s or community’s abilities, they catch this feeling of elation from their leader and follow him or her regardless of how distant or unreachable the goal is in reality. Charismatic leaders are often great orators. They communicate their vision freely, openly and so easily that they do not need to use other stimuli like promotion or money to arouse the interest of followers in what they say or plan to achieve. Charismatic leaders are also good listeners. Even when being silent, they radiate charisma, for example, through a steady eye contact and/or a smile. It is important to mention, though, that charisma is not a synonym of good looks. Even leaders with average looks can be charismatic. Neither can a simple smile be regarded as a demonstration or a tool of charisma. As one can see, many politicians and other leaders may be good-looking and use fake smiles which look insincere and do not win people’s sympathy, support or trust. Charismatic leaders give people only genuine smiles and emotions.
Overall, charisma is all about personality. People often say, “I do not know why, but I like this man/woman”, or “I am not sure what attracts me, but there is definitely something about this person”. Charisma can be best described as an inner magnet of someone’s individuality which makes people gravitate toward this person, become his or her followers, associates and even friends.
